Okay so instead of doing your traditional Father’s day for James and my dad/birthday party for my dad my two soon-to-be sister-in-laws suggested doing a luau!!! What fun was had by all. We prepared shish kebobs, salad, baked potatoes (a special thanks to Neufeld farms for that because they were delicious) and fruit flans for dessert. We even made pina coladas which took a few tries but ended up tasting great. We even decorated for the event and had an outdoor fire. It was such a blast and I really hope we do these kinds of parties again. My brother Tim had the excellent idea to prepare a “treat” for the two dads, which did not go over too well. I can’t say I blame them as it consisted of olives, pickles, tuna, strawberries and whole bunch of whipcream. Needless to say most of the whipcream ended in a variety of places including arms, faces, bellies, noses, clothes, etc. (you get the picture).
Anyway, after feeling slightly discouraged lately about the fact that my family seems to be growing apart. I was encouraged and inspired to make every moment count and enjoy the times we are able to make lasting memories.
